The Academy |
- is a division of YEAH, Youth Educated At Home, serving the needs of home educated teens since 1988.
- was founded in 1999 to fill the need expressed by many parents of home educated high school students.
- is a group tutorial supplement to individual home study programs.
- is not a "school"
- is not a homeschool "co-op" enrichment program.
- coursework has been selected with the objective of assisting home educating parents in courses that may be a challenge to them or be out of their field of expertise or interest.
- classes are held at a church conveniently located in Roseville on
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and some
Thursdays, September through April.
- day opens at 9:30 AM and ends at 4:00 PM (for most courses).
- Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday class semesters run for 15 weeks (fall and spring) with generally 90 minute classes
- course tuition typically costs $170.00-$200.00 per student per course per semester, plus texts
(where applicable). Thursday classes are 5-week
or 2-week sessions and are NEW for fall 2008.
- annually serves about 400 families and over 600 students.
