Art Adventures 

 Full Year Courses

OPEN to mid-year entry for NEW students if there is space available. Priority will be given to current Fall students until December 1st for spring semester.

Class Description:

   
Art Adventures and Art Explorations are alike in that they both include exploring the adventures of art!  They are different in that they cover different mediums and materials so you can enroll in one or both and learn something different and new each semester, and each year.  Some of the many areas in art: clay and sculpture, folk art, weaving, wood burning, painting, jewelry, mosaics, 3-D art, masks, paper making, water color, and much, much more. Very little home work, most is done in class.  

Supplies needed for student to purchase: None.  All materials are included by the tutor for this course.   

Total Due:
     $195.00 per semester
All course art lab materials are included by the tutor.  No additional supplies for student to purchase
Payment Options: $195.00 due with Registration per semester - paid in full per semester at the time of registration.

Art Explorations

World Art & Cultures

Class Description:

   
Explore our magnificent world through art. . .  Our journey will take us to the far reaches of the globe--and some right here at home in the Americas.  We will explore the history and culture of countries like Japan with Origami, Norway with rose malling, and Africa with tribal masks. Here at home, we will delve into the Native American culture, the Alaskan totem poles, and African-American folk art.  This is just the beginning! 

This learning adventure will be exciting and fulfilling as we travel the world together through Art! 

This course is designed to introduce the student to the discovery and creation of art from a variety of cultures around the world.  Specifics of the course are being developed to coordinate with courses in geography and literature, also offered on Monday at The Academy. 

World Art & Cultures is a a good thematic whole language unit study to incorporate with other Monday YEAH Academy courses such as World Geography & Cultures and World Literature and Cultures
