This course is the Prerequisite basis
for all other Business courses.
Class Type: 3 credits
One Semester Course
NCU Class Description:
This course emphasizes the importance of
basic business fundamentals, including ethics, technology,
global perspectives, management, finance, marketing,
entrepreneurship and more. It introduces business from the
perspective of real people making real business decisions at
leading companies every day. The student will learn how to
apply classroom knowledge to contemporary business and
organizational issues that they may face in the marketplace.
Course Objectives:
Demonstrate the ability to
write concrete Executive Summaries of real-life business
scenarios.
Display a high level of
understanding of business fundamentals and practices, along
with critical thinking skills.
Demonstrate the ability to
research academic articles on related business topics.
Work within a team to
research, develop and present a business plan.

Curriculum Path with any of the PSEO Business classes:
Communications in Business, Principles of Marketing, along with
Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.

course is confirmed for Spring 2011. It is OPEN to NEW
students for spring 2011. Priority will be given to
students currently enrolled in Fall semester's COMM 220 for a limited period
of time.

will be covered including personal interaction, motivational
theory, business etiquette, group process skills,
problem-solving, communication of decisions, and personnel
issues.

Macroeconomics.

with emphasis upon development of strategy. The course
will also deal with the analysis of the needs and desires of
customers as well as environmental factors affecting marketing
such as competition, technology, social and economic forces and organizational
concerns.
