Class Description:

   
This course will provide an introduction to Greek language tools as well as Greek history and culture. Elements of Classical and Koine Greek morphology, syntax and vocabulary will be introduced with emphasis on reading classical and New Testament Greek. Vocabulary will be introduced in the context of reading selections and incorporated into their writing. Informal writing through use of the reader’s notes and essay questions will assist the students to be able to contribute to classroom discussion in a meaningful way.

Text: Required: revised Athenaze Book I: An Introduction to Ancient Greek. (see below) - Recommended: Liddell Scott Greek Lexicon: Abridged

Prerequisite: Satisfactory completion of the tutor’s Greek I or pre-approval by the tutor through a placement test.

This course is a continuation of Greek I. Pre-requisite is satisfactory completion of the tutor’s Greek I or pre-approval by the tutor through a placement test.

Greek, Advanced

Class Size Limit: 3 minimum; availability of course is dependent on enrollment.  
Prerequisite: Students must have successfully completed both Greek I and II with the tutor and must have tutor approval for entry into this course.

Class Description:

   
This course is continuation of Greek II and will include reading of the New Testament as well as other Greek authors in original unadapted ancient writings. This course will vary from year to year as it will be tailored for the students in the course. Texts and other materials will be based upon students enrolled in the course. 

Text: Students will be notified of required texts upon admission into the course. Availability of course is dependent on enrollment of the minimum number of students required: 3.
