LATIN COURSES
NOTE: All Students will have the opportunity to take the National Classic League’s National Latin Exam in March. Students taking the Latin I exams have received awards ranging from Gold medal summa cum laude to cum laude. Those taking the Latin III Prose exam have received Gold & Silver medals. Over half of the students taking the introductory exam received certificates – and
several students have attained a perfect score!

Class Description:
An introductory Latin course to help students acquire basic Latin grammar concepts and vocabulary, develop good language study habits, see relationship between Latin and other languages, especially English and explore Roman culture. It is designed to provide a solid background and preparation for a successful entry of students into Latin I. While not a pre-requisite for Latin I, it is foundational and highly recommended when possible.

course will be offered for 2011-12 concurrently with AP
Latin: Vergil. Students must be registered for the AP
section to be eligible for AP high school credit on their
transcript.
