Acrylic Painting 

Full Year Course

Supplies needed for student to purchasePaint: Base paint colors needed in your kit are: black, white, hookers green, yellow, ultra marine blue, red cadmium, alizarin crimson, raw sienna, burnt umber, Payne's gray, purple.  The paint recommended by tutor is called BASICS by Liquitex; you get the most for your money.   Brushes:  #10 square, #6 round, #6 square, a fine detail brush or script brush.  Make sure the brushes are for acrylic painting, they don't have to cost a lot but make sure the hairs stay in the brushes. Storage container: Have a shoe box size box (plastic is great) to keep paint and brushes in.  Keep your receipts for that first week; tutor will supply all the canvases, projects we will work on in class and odd paint colors for that week's project.

Watercolor I

One Semester Course

Class Description:

   
Students who consider themselves “not artistic” have proven that they can produce wonderful, satisfying watercolor paintings as a result of study in this course. Students with previous art experience will find ways to enhance their skills and deepen their appreciation of watercolor as it is presented in a fresh, new way. A variety of subject matter will be explored. Experience this exciting medium with an accomplished, award-winning artist.

Supplies needed for student to purchase: Brushes: 1" or 1 1/2" square watercolor brush, #10 round tip watercolor brush, #2 fine detail watercolor brush, 2-3" cheap brush to wet paper (i.e. from Menards).  Watercolor Paint: Ultra Marine Blue, Cobalt Blue, Prussian Blue, Dioxazine Purple, Sap Green, Hookers Green, Burnt Umber, Raw Sienna, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Payne Gray, Black.  Palette:  Large palette with cover or 2 small rounds with covers (Do your best, keep receipts). Supply box: Shoe box works.

Watercolor II

Class Type: One Semester  

Class Description:

   
This course is a continuation of Watercolor I, allowing students to take this medium to greater depth with more individual instruction.
