Class Description:
This course teaches care for adults,
children and infants: rescue breathing,
single-and two-rescuer CPR, and use of resuscitation mask, bag-valve-mask
(BVM) resuscitator, disposable gloves, and automated external
defibrillator (AED). In addition, you will practice
bandaging and splinting and learn a plan of action to recognize
and deal with these emergencies: unconsciousness, bleeding;
broken bones; head, neck and back injuries; sudden illness,
including stroke, diabetic emergencies, seizures, fainting and
poisoning. Each student will have a research paper on a
related topic.
