Mrs.
Rita Lew has a Masters Degree in Spanish Language and Literature from Northwestern University in Evanston Illinois. Her study in Spain and travels to Mexico
and Guatemala give her extensive first-hand experience with the Spanish language and culture. She has taught Spanish at both the university and high school levels and has tutored home educated students for over ten years. She has written and published Patterns for Communication: Spanish (Beaver’s Pond Press, 2004), a Spanish language program designed specifically for home educators. She has spoken at MACHE, MHA and the Minnesota Catholic Home Educators Association conferences on the topic of foreign language learning. Her article “Foreign Language in Your Home School” was featured in “Homeschooling Today” magazine. She and her husband Bill have five children and have home educated since 1984. She
has served on the YEAH and The Academy Board of Directors and has tutored at The Academy since its inception in 1999.
She is an Adjunct Professor at North Central University,
Minneapolis. |
